Dear 1957 Classmate or Teacher,

All plans are now complete for our 50th Reunion as outlined below. There is a lot of enthusiasm about the reunion. Lots of people have told me that they are planning on coming, some who have never come to a reunion before. If you have never come to a reunion you have missed something special. Our Reunion will not be complete unless EVERYONE comes. So please join in celebrating our 50th Class Reunion!!

The festivities will be held during the Homecoming Weekend of Oct. 5 and 6, 2007. The Whitten Inn (northeast corner, intersection of Interstate 20 and Hwy. 87) is the Headquarters Motel. I've negotiated a rate of $57 (includes all taxes and fees) for a single king bed or two queen beds. Phone 432-267-1601 or 800-677- 8175 and make reservations before Aug. 1, 2007 to insure this rate.

Thursday, Oct. 4

· Late PM-Early arrivals can meet at the Hospitality Room at the Whitten Inn. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available. The room will be available for meeting and visiting except during the breakfast time ( 6AM-10AM). Originally the plan was for early arrivals to meet at Julie Shirey's home but she is moving to Lubbock. Cecilia (McDonald) Adams is going to decorate the Hospitality Room and be responsible for supplying the refreshments. Logan Boles is going to have nametags with El Rodeo pictures for all attendees. T-shirts, especially designed for the Reunion, will be available for purchase from Lucy (Thompson) Odom.

Friday, Oct. 5

· 8 AM-Golf Tournament @ Big Spring Country Club (if we have enough interest). Gerald Lackey is in charge of the golf outing. Cost will be $30 per person for golf. A hamburger lunch can be purchased at the Country Club after play is over. Everyone is invited for the lunch, not just golfers.
· 2:30 PM-Attend the Homecoming Pep Rally at BSHS.
· 4:30 PM-Ride in the downtown Homecoming Parade. A decorated float will be provided. Lucy (Thompson) and Paschal Odom are in charge of the float and decorations.
· 7:30 PM-Attend the Homecoming Football game - BSHS vs. Andrews.
· After game-Visit at the Hospitality Room @ Whitten Inn.

Saturday, Oct. 6

· 12:00 Noon-Lunch at the old Wagon Wheel Drive-Inn at the corner of Scurry and West 20th Street.
· 6:00PM-Dinner/Dance at La Vedera Club (northwest corner of intersection of Interstate 20 and Hwy. 87). Cost for the Dinner/Dance is $20/person. 6:00-7:00 PM will be cocktail time. BYOB but wine and beer, and set-ups will be available at the club. A group photo will be taken early in the evening by GreenHouse Photography. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM. BBQ beef and sausage with all the trimmings will be provided by Brenda's BBQ and More. After we finish eating and before we start the dancing we will take a few minutes to honor our deceased classmates with a short ceremony led by Helen (Gray) Galbraith. . Disc-jockey services will be provided by Thornz and Nailz Productions. They will be playing a variety of music including tons of '50s tunes so bring your dancing shoes.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE sign up ASAP (no later that August 1, 2007) for the reunion. Fill out the form and send your check for the Dinner/Dance and golf if you plan on playing. Separate check for the Golf. I hope to get donations to cover the other costs…. Hospitality Room refreshments, decoration costs, mailings, etc. So, send me a donation with your reservation. All unspent money will be given to BSHS Alumni Fund.

PLEASE COME and make our 50th Reunion a time that we all will remember. Our 5oth Reunion won't be complete unless YOU come!
