All plans are now complete for our 50th Reunion as
outlined below. There is a lot of enthusiasm about the
reunion. Lots of people have told us that they are
planning on coming, some who have never come to a
reunion before. If you have never come to a reunion, you
have missed something special. Our reunion will not be
complete unless EVERYONE comes. So please join in
celebrating our 50th Class Reunion!!
The festivities will be held during the Homecoming
weekend of September 12 and 13, 2008. The Whitten Inn
(now the Plaza at the northeast corner, intersection of
Interstate 20 and Hwy. 87) is the headquarters motel.

Donnie Mabe Rupp is creating a 50th reunion memory book
that will include biographies and pictures of all the
classmates who send them to her and obituaries for all
of the deceased classmates that we can locate. The
memory book will cost $30. If you cannot attend the
reunion, you can still order the memory book from the
registration form. Our memory book will only be complete
if all class members send in their biographies and
pictures. The biography should be about 250 words long,
telling what has happened since graduation. Tell about
college, military service, work history, spouse,
children, hobbies, etc. Send your biography and picture

Now, for the Reunion activities:
Thursday, September 11
Late PM - Early arrivals can meet at the Hospitality
Room at the Whitten Inn. Beer, wine and soft drinks will
be available. The room will be available for meeting and
visiting except during the breakfast time (6AM-10AM).
Friday, September 12
8:00-2:00 - Registration/Meet and Greet/Hospitality
Room, Whitten Inn
2:30 PM - Attend the Homecoming Pep Rally at BSHS.
4:30 PM - Ride in the downtown Homecoming Parade. A
decorated float will be provided.
7:30 PM - Attend the Homecoming Football game - BSHS vs.
Andrews.
After-game visit at
Howard College Student Union Building, Fireside Room.
Saturday, September 13
8 AM - Golf Tournament at the Big Spring Country Club
(if we have enough interest). Lane Edwards Reynolds is
in charge of the golf outing. Cost will be $37 per
person for golf. A hamburger lunch can be purchased at
the Country Club after play is over. Everyone is invited
for the lunch, not just golfers.
12:00 Noon - Everyone is on their own for lunch and
visiting in the afternoon.
6:00 PM - Dinner/Dance at La Vedera Club (northwest
corner of intersection of Interstate 20 and Hwy. 87).
Cost for the Dinner/Dance is $30/person. 6:00-7:00 PM
will be cocktail time. BYOB but wine, beer, and set-ups
will be available at the club. A group photo will be
taken early in the evening. Dinner will be served at
7:00 PM. After we finish eating and before we start the
dancing, we will take a few minutes to honor our
deceased classmates with a short ceremony. We'll have a
variety of music including tons of '50s tunes so bring
your dancing shoes.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE sign up ASAP (no later than
August 20, 2008) for the reunion. Fill out the form on
the next page and send your check for the dinner/dance,
golf if you plan on playing, and the reunion/memory
book. Send a separate check for the golf. We hope to get
donations to cover the other costs - Hospitality Room
refreshments, decoration costs, mailings, memory book
production, website, etc. So, send a donation to help
defray these costs along with your reservation. All
unspent money will be given to BSHS Alumni Fund.
Please come and make our 50th Reunion a time that we all
will remember.
