Big Spring High School Class of 1948

Lillian Tamsitt (Lill) Condra, age 75, of Boerne, and formerly of Austin, passed away Dec. 8, 2006, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Lill was born July 9, 1931, in Big Spring to Guy James and Steva Mae (Kavanaugh) Tamsitt. She is survived by her brother, Jim Tamsitt of Austin; her son and daughter-in-law, Guy and Lisa Condra of Boerne, their children, Christi Condra of Atlanta, Ga., Marsha Pendleton and her husband Nat, their son Keith and daughter Addison, of Boerne, Shelly Condra and her daughter Marissa of San Antonio, Kimberly Condra of Austin, and Katelyn Condra of Boerne; and her son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Sally Condra, and their children, Philip, Mary Kate and Patrick of Austin. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William M. (Bill) Condra in April of this year.

Lill grew up in Big Spring among close friends, many of whom she recently visited at their high school reunion. She truly loved West Texas and staying in touch with all of her dear friends. She attended grade school and high school in both Big Spring and in Austin. After moving back to Big Spring, she met Bill and became a teller at State National Bank in Big Spring before owning and operating a card and party shop for several years. The family would return to Austin in 1969 where she held numerous administrative positions with healthcare professionals and ultimately as an administrative assistant for over a decade to several state representatives. Lill retired from the state capital in 2000 and then she and Bill decided to move to Kerrville. Shortly thereafter, she was presented an opportunity to continue to work part-time for State Rep. Harvey Hilderbran.

Lill spent the last two years under the care and attention of many fantastic medical professionals who quickly became friends. In particular, the family wishes to thank Dr. Rebecca Barrington for her professional care and her comforting personality along with her caring and dedicated staff. We also wish to thank Dr. John Barnett and his staff for their care and expertise, the many doctors and nurses at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital, the hospice caregivers of Peterson Hospice and the caregivers of Caring Senior Service whose compassion and personal touch are unequaled.

Services were held at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin 78745. A visitation with the family was  held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday,  Dec. 11, 2006. A memorial service followed on Dec. 12, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Peterson Hospice, 1121 Broadway, Kerrville 78028, or the charity of your choice.
